I led UX/UI design for GiveAway's mobile apps from ideation. GiveAway is a YC-backed sharing platform that allows users to trade their used stuff using virtual coins. 1M+ items traded. $5M+ saved for users.

About:

I was invited by the GiveAway team to take on the role of lead designer for the project. At the time, the app already had around 600 users. My first task was to explore and enhance the user experience. I delved into this with great enthusiasm, dedicating myself to researching and improving the app's usability.

Design process:

I created a user flow and realized that there are 3 main types of users in the app: Giver, Taker, and Giver/Taker. This helped me develop a user-centred design.

Subsequently, this has boosted our core user retention and paying user retention to a good level.

It is mobile first app and when we reached 5 million downloads, I took charge of UX/UI design for the desktop version of the application. Below are screenshots from the app and the desktop version:

The end result is a user-friendly sharing platform with over 5M users, rating 4.9⭐ in marketplaces. Every fourth resident in the launched city used our application. 1M+ items traded. $5M+ saved for users.
